Weekly Futtun Updates 31

Introduction
#

Hello everyone,

How are you? Welcome to my blog. In this post, I will talk about Futtun’s progress update, from Monday 27 July 2026 to today, Sunday 02 August 2026.

Associate entities to thoughts and vice versa
#

While your thoughts may happen in isolation, I find that most of mine are prompted by something, and I wanted to capture this relationship in Futtun.

I will use the page to view a thought as an example, but everything also applies to the page to view an entity.

When you are viewing a thought, there is now a section where you can associate an entity to it. These associations appear in the list of all audit actions, and in the audit actions section when you are viewing the thought.

Make audit action labels uniform
#

This was bothering me, so I fixed it.

There are 3 places where you can see your audit actions:

  1. The list of all audit actions;
  2. The audit section when viewing a thought;
  3. The audit section when viewing an entity.

Labels in number 1 were different from labels in numbers 2 and 3. Not anymore.

Introduce tabs when viewing thoughts and entities
#

With the introduction of the section to associate thoughts or entities, I felt the page to view an entity or thought was cluttered. To fix this, I have split these pages into tabs.

I will use the page to view a thought as an example, but everything also applies to the page to view an entity.

At the top of the page, there are now 3 tabs: Details, Associated Entities, Audit Actions. Each tab shows a different set of information about the thought, and each of them is self-explanatory. The page feels much less cluttered and easier to understand.

Introduce confirmation when deleting associated thought/entity
#

The goal is to prevent misclicks from deleting associations.

Dependency updates
#

With Futtun being an Internet facing application, I will now need to keep on top of updating its dependencies for as long as I will keep Futtun available.

Conclusion
#

Thank you for your time, and I hope to see you again soon. Bye bye.
