How are you? Welcome to my blog. In this post, I will talk about Futtun’s progress update, from Monday 23 March 2026 to today, Sunday 29 March 2026.
Another slow week of progress#
Alas, another week where I had commitments that kept me away from Futtun.
I have been thinking about how to improve my progress when this happens. Given the times, the answer is to use AI to assist my coding. Not “vibe coding”, but “AI assisted coding”. The difference is that, with vibe coding, you trust the AI to have done a good job and you just do a cursory check of the output, if at all. With AI assisted coding, you do check the output. The AI is assisting, rather than feeling the vibes are positive.
On the plus side, it would increase the pace of progress, because I am confident I would be able to clearly explain what I want. I am also confident I can correct the AI’s mistakes.
On the minus side, it would cost money, because AI is not free, and it would hamper my learning of JavaScript/React/etc. For the latter, it could be argued that learning new languages and libraries is less imported than before AI came around. It is a fair point, but it is still too early to be certain, and I would rather hedge my bet by using AI and learning new languages and tools by hand.
Dependency upgrades#
With Futtun being an Internet facing application, I will now need to keep on top of upgrading its dependencies for as long as I will keep Futtun available.
